Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2018 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Asian 20th Century Art (Day Sale) Including a Selection of Japanese Woodblock Prints from Private Collections, which included this untitled work by Wang Yan Cheng. The price achieved of HKD 1,875,000.00 (€ 211,626.78) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 1,500,000.00 – 2,500,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Wang Yan Cheng - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work without title, which sold at auction in November 2013 for HKD 5,440,000.00 (€ 515,772.45).
