This price was achieved in the auction Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy at Christies in Hong Kong and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of HKD 80,000.00 many times over. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Wang Shu - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Superfluous Words On Calligraphy, which sold at auction in September 2012 for USD 134,500.00 (€ 104,620.41).

Die Arbeit Calligraphy In Standard, Running And Cursive Scripts von Wang Shu war einem Käufer im November 2013 HKD 325.000,00 (€ 30.813,61) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy bei Christies in Hong Kong erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 80.000,00 um ein Vielfaches. Für andere Arbeiten von Wang Shu mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Superfluous Words On Calligraphy beobachtet, die im September 2012 für USD 134.500,00 (€ 104.620,41) versteigert wurde.
