In May 2017 Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy, which included the work Plum Blossom by Wang Shishen. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 300,000.00 (€ 34,255.96), 50% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by Wang Shishen have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Flower Tree in April 2013 with an auction result of HKD 1,840,000.00 (€ 180,115.43).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 50 % übertroffen
Im Mai 2017 führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy durch, in der auch die Arbeit Plum Blossom von Wang Shishen zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 300.000,00 (€ 34.255,96) und damit 50% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Wang Shishen auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Flower Tree im April 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 1.840.000,00 (€ 180.115,43).
