Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2021 Christies in New York held the auction Contemporary Art Asia, which included the work Between...No.14 by Wang Jianwei. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 8,750.00 (€ 7,451.25) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wang Jianwei achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Blind in May 2016 with an auction result of HKD 2,200,000.00 (€ 254,279.30).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2021 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Contemporary Art Asia durch, in der auch die Arbeit Between...No.14 von Wang Jianwei zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 8.750,00 (€ 7.451,25) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wang Jianwei erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Blind im Mai 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 2.200.000,00 (€ 254.279,30).
