Auction result well in line with expectations
In December last year Christies in Hong Kong held the auction Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy, which included the work Running Script Calligraphy by Wang Duo. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 300,000.00 – 500,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 327,600.00 (€ 39,258.10) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wang Duo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Poems in Cursive Script Calligraphy in May 2011 with an auction result of HKD 32,020,000.00 (€ 2,864,337.79).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember letzten Jahres führte Christies in Hong Kong die Auktion Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy durch, in der auch die Arbeit Running Script Calligraphy von Wang Duo zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 300.000,00 – 500.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 327.600,00 (€ 39.258,10) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Wang Duo erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Poems in Cursive Script Calligraphy im Mai 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 32.020.000,00 (€ 2.864.337,79).
