Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Calligraphy After Jin And Tang Dynasty Masters by Wang Duo was sold in the Fine Classical Chinese Paintings auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2020. The price achieved of HKD 2,520,000.00 (€ 279,110.50) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 2,000,000.00 – 3,000,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Wang Duo achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Poems in Cursive Script Calligraphy in May 2011 with an auction result of HKD 32,020,000.00 (€ 2,864,337.79).
