The auction ended at the price of HKD 5,000,000.00 (€ 527,391.66), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of HKD 3,000,000.00 – 5,000,000.00. Admittedly, works by Wang Duo have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Poems in Cursive Script Calligraphy in May 2011 with an auction result of HKD 32,020,000.00 (€ 2,864,337.79).

Die Arbeit Five-Character Poem in Running-Cursive Script von Wang Duo kam im Dezember 2020 bei Christies in Hong Kong zur Auktion. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von HKD 5.000.000,00 (€ 527.391,66) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 3.000.000,00 – 5.000.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Wang Duo auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Poems in Cursive Script Calligraphy im Mai 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 32.020.000,00 (€ 2.864.337,79).
