Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Luxe Populaire by Wang Du was auctioned at Phillips in London in April 2008. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 32,900.00 (€ 41,942.85) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Wang Du have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work No Comment in March 2007 with an auction result of USD 264,000.00 (€ 197,397.94).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Luxe Populaire von Wang Du kam im April 2008 bei Phillips in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 32.900,00 (€ 41.942,85) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Wang Du auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit No Comment im März 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 264.000,00 (€ 197.397,94).
