A top price for Wang Du - as previously expected
The work No Comment by Wang Du was sold in the Contemporary Art Asia auction at Sothebys in New York in March 2007. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 250,000.00 – 350,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 264,000.00 (€ 197,397.94) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, No Comment is the most expensive artwork by Wang Du that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis mit Ansage
Die Arbeit No Comment von Wang Du wurde im März 2007 in der Auktion Contemporary Art Asia bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 250.000,00 – 350.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 264.000,00 (€ 197.397,94) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist No Comment das teuerste Kunstwerk von Wang Du, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
