This artwork by Walton Ford achieved an unexpectedly high price at Phillips in New York in March last year. In the New Now auction, the work Compassion sold for USD 36,540.00 (€ 32,939.69) - well above the upper estimate of USD 20,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Walton Ford achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Bitter Gulfs in May 2014 with an auction result of USD 1,445,000.00 (€ 1,059,384.16).

Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Walton Ford erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Bitter Gulfs im Mai 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 1.445.000,00 (€ 1.059.384,16).
