Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work FOLGEFONNA 1/2002 by Walter Niedermayr was auctioned at Christies in New York in July 2015, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 500.00 (€ 453.39). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Walter Niedermayr achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Ghiacciaio Della Marmolada II - 1995 in October 2017 with an auction result of EUR 23,400.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit FOLGEFONNA 1/2002 von Walter Niedermayr im Juli 2015 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 500,00 (€ 453,39) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Walter Niedermayr erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Ghiacciaio Della Marmolada II - 1995 im Oktober 2017 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 23.400,00.
