A top price for Walter Bayes
This artwork by Walter Bayes achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in Los Angeles in July this year. In the Modern British and Irish Art auction, the work Sunny Cove, Salcombe sold for GBP 4,096.00 (€ 4,778.79) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00. This high result makes Sunny Cove, Salcombe the most expensive artwork by Walter Bayes that we have observed at auctions so far.
