Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work The red candle by Walter Bayes was auctioned at Christies in London in February 2009. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 1,200.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 1,375.00 (€ 1,550.27). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Walter Bayes - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Sunny Cove, Salcombe, which sold at auction in July this year for GBP 4,096.00 (€ 4,778.79).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit The red candle von Walter Bayes kam im Februar 2009 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 1.200,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 1.375,00 (€ 1.550,27) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Walter Bayes mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Sunny Cove, Salcombe beobachtet, die im Juli diesen Jahres für GBP 4.096,00 (€ 4.778,79) versteigert wurde.
