Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2005 Christies in London held the auction 20th Century British Art, which included the work Top of The Hill by Walter Bayes. The price achieved of GBP 1,800.00 (€ 2,657.36) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Other works by Walter Bayes have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in July this year the work Sunny Cove, Salcombe was auctioned for GBP 4,096.00 (€ 4,778.79).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2005 führte Christies in London die Auktion 20th Century British Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Top of The Hill von Walter Bayes zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.800,00 (€ 2.657,36) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben worden. Andere Arbeiten von Walter Bayes konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im Juli diesen Jahres die Arbeit Sunny Cove, Salcombe für GBP 4.096,00 (€ 4.778,79) versteigert.
