The work The Terrace by Walter Bayes was sold in the 20th Century British Art auction at Christies in London in May 2006. It achieved a price of GBP 1,080.00 (€ 1,576.45), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 35%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Walter Bayes - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Sunny Cove, Salcombe, which sold at auction in July this year for GBP 4,096.00 (€ 4,778.79).

Die Arbeit The Terrace von Walter Bayes wurde im Mai 2006 in der Auktion 20th Century British Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 1.080,00 (€ 1.576,45) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 35%. Für andere Arbeiten von Walter Bayes mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Sunny Cove, Salcombe beobachtet, die im Juli diesen Jahres für GBP 4.096,00 (€ 4.778,79) versteigert wurde.
