Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Gian Bologna In Manchester Square by Walter Bayes was auctioned at Sothebys in Olympia in March 2007. The price achieved of GBP 1,440.00 (€ 2,119.52) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,200.00 – 1,800.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Walter Bayes - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Sunny Cove, Salcombe, which sold at auction in July this year for GBP 4,096.00 (€ 4,778.79).

Die Arbeit Gian Bologna In Manchester Square von Walter Bayes kam im März 2007 bei Sothebys in Olympia zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.440,00 (€ 2.119,52) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.200,00 – 1.800,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Walter Bayes mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Sunny Cove, Salcombe beobachtet, die im Juli diesen Jahres für GBP 4.096,00 (€ 4.778,79) versteigert wurde.
