The work High Energy Bar by Walter De Maria was sold in the Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale auction at Christies in London in February 2020. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 27,500.00 (€ 31,872.56), 53% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Walter De Maria achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Circle/Rectangle 7 (Large Rod Series) in November 2007 with an auction result of USD 577,000.00 (€ 392,837.69).

Die Arbeit High Energy Bar von Walter De Maria wurde im Februar 2020 in der Auktion Post-War and Contemporary Art Day Sale bei Christies in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 27.500,00 (€ 31.872,56) und damit 53% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Walter De Maria erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Circle/Rectangle 7 (Large Rod Series) im November 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 577.000,00 (€ 392.837,69).
