Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Two Parallel Lines, 12 Ft apart in chalk, Nevada by Walter De Maria was sold in the Collection Loïc Malle: Only Time Will Tell auction at Sothebys in Paris in April last year. Here, the upper estimate of EUR 34,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for EUR 37,800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Walter De Maria achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Circle/Rectangle 7 (Large Rod Series) in November 2007 with an auction result of USD 577,000.00 (€ 392,837.69).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Two Parallel Lines, 12 Ft apart in chalk, Nevada von Walter De Maria wurde im April letzten Jahres in der Auktion Collection Loïc Malle: Only Time Will Tell bei Sothebys in Paris versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von EUR 34.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für EUR 37.800,00 einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Walter De Maria erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Circle/Rectangle 7 (Large Rod Series) im November 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 577.000,00 (€ 392.837,69).
