Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Untitled (VS 20) by Vivian Springford was sold in the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Morning Session auction at Phillips in New York in May this year. The »bidding war« ended at USD 95,250.00 (€ 89,403.04), 19% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Vivian Springford - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Untitled (Tanzania Series), which sold at auction in May this year for USD 241,300.00 (€ 226,487.70).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Untitled (VS 20) von Vivian Springford wurde im Mai diesen Jahres in der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale, Morning Session bei Phillips in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 95.250,00 (€ 89.403,04) und damit 19% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Vivian Springford mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Untitled (Tanzania Series) beobachtet, die im Mai diesen Jahres für USD 241.300,00 (€ 226.487,70) versteigert wurde.
