Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Italian mezzogiorno Al Mare by Vittorio Matteo Corcos was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in November 2012. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 200,000.00 – 300,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 206,500.00 (€ 158,724.06) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Vittorio Matteo Corcos - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Alla fontana (Le due colombe), which sold at auction in October 2020 for USD 687,500.00 (€ 590,280.76).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Italian mezzogiorno Al Mare von Vittorio Matteo Corcos kam im November 2012 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 200.000,00 – 300.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 206.500,00 (€ 158.724,06) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Vittorio Matteo Corcos mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Alla fontana (Le due colombe) beobachtet, die im Oktober 2020 für USD 687.500,00 (€ 590.280,76) versteigert wurde.
