Auction result well in line with expectations
In June this year Phillips in New York held the auction Editions & Works on Paper, which included the work Untitled, from The Stars by Vija Celmins. The price achieved of USD 3,810.00 (€ 3,489.01) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Vija Celmins achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (Ocean) in June 2021 with an auction result of USD 7,748,000.00 (€ 6,539,500.34).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni diesen Jahres führte Phillips in New York die Auktion Editions & Works on Paper durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled, from The Stars von Vija Celmins zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 3.810,00 (€ 3.489,01) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Vija Celmins erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled (Ocean) im Juni 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 7.748.000,00 (€ 6.539.500,34).
