Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Divided Night Sky; and Reverse Galaxy by Vija Celmins was auctioned at Phillips in London in January 2024. The price achieved of GBP 10,160.00 (€ 17,004.37) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Vija Celmins achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (Ocean) in June 2021 with an auction result of USD 7,748,000.00 (€ 6,539,500.34).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Divided Night Sky; and Reverse Galaxy von Vija Celmins kam im Januar 2024 bei Phillips in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 10.160,00 (€ 17.004,37) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Vija Celmins erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled (Ocean) im Juni 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 7.748.000,00 (€ 6.539.500,34).
