A top price for Viktor IV - as previously expected
In December 2008 Sothebys in Amsterdam held the auction Modern and Contemporary Art, including 1950 Northern European Avant - Garde, which included the work American Totem by Viktor IV. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 8,125.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, American Totem is the most expensive artwork by Viktor IV that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis mit Ansage
Im Dezember 2008 führte Sothebys in Amsterdam die Auktion Modern and Contemporary Art, including 1950 Northern European Avant - Garde durch, in der auch die Arbeit American Totem von Viktor IV zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 8.125,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist American Totem das teuerste Kunstwerk von Viktor IV, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
