Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Vasily Vereshchagin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Taj Mahal, Evening in June 2011 with an auction result of GBP 2,281,250.00 (€ 2,523,779.09).

Die Arbeit Bhutanese girl von Vasily Vereshchagin kam im November 2016 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 22.500,00 (€ 26.547,79) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 50%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Vasily Vereshchagin erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Taj Mahal, Evening im Juni 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.281.250,00 (€ 2.523.779,09).
