This artwork by Vasily Vereshchagin achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in December 2015. In the Russian Pictures Including Works on Paper by Natalia Goncharova and Mikhail Larionov auction, the work Portrait Of An Arab sold for GBP 40,000.00 (€ 54,318.08) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 18,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Vasily Vereshchagin achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Taj Mahal, Evening in June 2011 with an auction result of GBP 2,281,250.00 (€ 2,523,779.09).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Vasily Vereshchagin erzielte im Dezember 2015 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Russian Pictures Including Works on Paper by Natalia Goncharova and Mikhail Larionov wurde die Arbeit Portrait Of An Arab für GBP 40.000,00 (€ 54.318,08) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 18.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Vasily Vereshchagin erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Taj Mahal, Evening im Juni 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 2.281.250,00 (€ 2.523.779,09).
