Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Spy by Vasily Vereshchagin was auctioned at Sothebys in London in May 2012. The price achieved of GBP 1,049,250.00 (€ 1,307,319.33) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 800,000.00 – 1,250,000.00. Other works by Vasily Vereshchagin have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in June 2011 the work The Taj Mahal, Evening was auctioned for GBP 2,281,250.00 (€ 2,523,779.09).

Die Arbeit The Spy von Vasily Vereshchagin kam im Mai 2012 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.049.250,00 (€ 1.307.319,33) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 800.000,00 – 1.250.000,00 angegeben worden.
