Auction result well in line with expectations
The work View Of Cassis by Vasily Shukhaev was sold in the Important Russian Art auction at Sothebys in London in June 2013. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 300,000.00 – 500,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 314,500.00 (€ 367,077.82) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Vasily Shukhaev - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portrait of Madame Pavlova, which sold at auction in June 2007 for GBP 916,000.00 (€ 1,359,297.93).
