Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Tsikhidzhvari by Vasily Shukhaev was sold in the Russian Art Day Sale auction at Sothebys in London in June 2014. The price achieved of GBP 50,000.00 (€ 62,472.61) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Vasily Shukhaev achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of Madame Pavlova in June 2007 with an auction result of GBP 916,000.00 (€ 1,359,297.93).
