Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Vasily Vereshchagin achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in November 2012. In the Important Russian Art auction, the work The Adjutant sold for GBP 690,850.00 (€ 851,057.11) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 300,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Vasily Vereshchagin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Taj Mahal, Evening, which sold at auction in June 2011 for GBP 2,281,250.00 (€ 2,523,779.09).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Vasily Vereshchagin erzielte im November 2012 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Important Russian Art wurde die Arbeit The Adjutant für GBP 690.850,00 (€ 851.057,11) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 300.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Vasily Vereshchagin mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Taj Mahal, Evening beobachtet, die im Juni 2011 für GBP 2.281.250,00 (€ 2.523.779,09) versteigert wurde.
