This artwork by Vanessa Beecroft achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Cologne in November 2021. In the Contemporary Passions auction, the work VB 52 sold for EUR 27,720.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 15,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Vanessa Beecroft - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Vb 48, Palazzo Ducale, Genoa, which sold at auction in May 2007 for USD 120,000.00 (€ 89,199.44).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 85 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Vanessa Beecroft erzielte im November 2021 bei Sothebys in Köln einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Passions wurde die Arbeit VB 52 für EUR 27.720,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 15.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Vanessa Beecroft mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Vb 48, Palazzo Ducale, Genoa beobachtet, die im Mai 2007 für USD 120.000,00 (€ 89.199,44) versteigert wurde.
