This artwork by Uzo Egonu achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in October 2019. In the Modern and Contemporary African Art auction, the work Stateless People (A Musician) sold for GBP 40,000.00 (€ 46,397.13) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 20,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Uzo Egonu; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Nigerian Woman Reading sold at auction in April 2019 with the realized price of GBP 43,750.00 (€ 50,893.89).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Uzo Egonu erzielte im Oktober 2019 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern and Contemporary African Art wurde die Arbeit Stateless People (A Musician) für GBP 40.000,00 (€ 46.397,13) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 20.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Uzo Egonu; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Nigerian Woman Reading im April 2019 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 43.750,00 (€ 50.893,89).
