Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In October 2021 Bonhams in London held the auction Modern & Contemporary African Art, which included the work Dancers by Uzo Egonu. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 15,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 16,500.00 (€ 19,548.04). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Uzo Egonu - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Nigerian Woman Reading, which sold at auction in April 2019 for GBP 43,750.00 (€ 50,893.89).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Oktober 2021 führte Bonhams in London die Auktion Modern & Contemporary African Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Dancers von Uzo Egonu zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 15.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 16.500,00 (€ 19.548,04) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Uzo Egonu mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Nigerian Woman Reading beobachtet, die im April 2019 für GBP 43.750,00 (€ 50.893,89) versteigert wurde.
