Auction result misses estimated price range
In November this year a collector was able to acquire the work Unknown by Utagawa Kuniyoshi for GBP 358.40 (€ 415.31). This price was achieved in the auction Japan-Mania (Online-only) at Bonhams and was even below the estimate range of GBP 500.00 – 600.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Utagawa Kuniyoshi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Mitsukuni Defying The Skeleton Spectre Conjured Up By Princess Takiyasha (Souma No Furudairi Yokai Ga Shadokuro To Tatakau Oya Notarou Mitsukuni) in November 2019 with an auction result of GBP 200,000.00 (€ 234,848.90).
