Six oban tate-e prints from the series Hyakunin isshu (100 Poems by 100 Poets), comprising: Sojo Henjo, no.12; Ariwara no Narihira Ason, no.17; Funya no Yasuhide, no.22; Gonchunagon Sadayori, no.64; Noin Hoshi, no.69; Jakuren Hoshi, no.87; published by Ebisu, circa 1842, signed Ichiyusai Kuniyoshi ga/ Chooro Kuniyoshi ga; all mounted on card. The smallest: 23.7cm x 34.5cm (9 5/16in x 13 9/16in); the largest: 25.5cm x 37.6cm (10in x 14 13/16in). (6).

Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Unknown by Utagawa Kuniyoshi was auctioned at Bonhams in London in May this year. The price achieved of GBP 2,560.00 (€ 2,978.58) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Utagawa Kuniyoshi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Mitsukuni Defying The Skeleton Spectre Conjured Up By Princess Takiyasha (Souma No Furudairi Yokai Ga Shadokuro To Tatakau Oya Notarou Mitsukuni) in November 2019 with an auction result of GBP 200,000.00 (€ 234,848.90).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Unknown von Utagawa Kuniyoshi kam im Mai diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 2.560,00 (€ 2.978,58) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Utagawa Kuniyoshi erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Mitsukuni Defying The Skeleton Spectre Conjured Up By Princess Takiyasha (Souma No Furudairi Yokai Ga Shadokuro To Tatakau Oya Notarou Mitsukuni) im November 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 200.000,00 (€ 234.848,90).
