This artwork by Utagawa Kuniyoshi achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in March this year. In the Japanese and Korean Art auction, the work Sanada no Yoichi Yoshihisa, Matano no Goro Kagehisa sold for USD 18,900.00 (€ 17,384.11) - well above the upper estimate of USD 10,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Utagawa Kuniyoshi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Mitsukuni Defying The Skeleton Spectre Conjured Up By Princess Takiyasha (Souma No Furudairi Yokai Ga Shadokuro To Tatakau Oya Notarou Mitsukuni) in November 2019 with an auction result of GBP 200,000.00 (€ 234,848.90).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Utagawa Kuniyoshi erzielte im März diesen Jahres bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Japanese and Korean Art wurde die Arbeit Sanada no Yoichi Yoshihisa, Matano no Goro Kagehisa für USD 18.900,00 (€ 17.384,11) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 10.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Utagawa Kuniyoshi erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Mitsukuni Defying The Skeleton Spectre Conjured Up By Princess Takiyasha (Souma No Furudairi Yokai Ga Shadokuro To Tatakau Oya Notarou Mitsukuni) im November 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 200.000,00 (€ 234.848,90).
