Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2001 Christies in New York held the auction JAPANESE AND KOREAN ART, which included the work Kataoka Nizaemon VII as Iyo no Taro by Utagawa Kunimasa. The price achieved of USD 5,875.00 (€ 6,532.86) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Utagawa Kunimasa achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Unknown in May 2008 with an auction result of GBP 58,100.00 (€ 73,905.74).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2001 führte Christies in New York die Auktion JAPANESE AND KOREAN ART durch, in der auch die Arbeit Kataoka Nizaemon VII as Iyo no Taro von Utagawa Kunimasa zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 5.875,00 (€ 6.532,86) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 5.000,00 – 7.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Utagawa Kunimasa erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Unknown im Mai 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 58.100,00 (€ 73.905,74).
