A top price for Utagawa Kunimasa
In May 2008 Christies in London held the auction Japanese Art and Design, which included the work Unknown by Utagawa Kunimasa. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 58,100.00 (€ 73,905.74), 16% above the upper estimate. With this result, Unknown is even the most expensive work of art by Utagawa Kunimasa that we have observed at auctions so far.

Im Mai 2008 führte Christies in London die Auktion Japanese Art and Design durch, in der auch die Arbeit Unknown von Utagawa Kunimasa zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 58.100,00 (€ 73.905,74) und damit 16% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Mit diesem Ergebnis ist Unknown sogar das teuerste Kunstwerk von Utagawa Kunimasa, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
