Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work URS FISCHER (B. 1973) by Urs Fischer was auctioned at Christies in New York in November last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 250,000.00 – 350,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 140,000.00 (€ 135,619.49). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Urs Fischer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Untitled (Lamp/Bear) in May 2011 with an auction result of USD 6,802,500.00 (€ 4,731,844.74).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit URS FISCHER (B. 1973) von Urs Fischer im November letzten Jahres bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 250.000,00 – 350.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 140.000,00 (€ 135.619,49) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Urs Fischer erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Untitled (Lamp/Bear) im Mai 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 6.802.500,00 (€ 4.731.844,74).
