Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Work by Chiyu Uemae was sold in the Contemporary Art auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2018. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 1,000,000.00 – 2,000,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 1,250,000.00 (€ 140,751.85) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Chiyu Uemae - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work without title, which sold at auction in May 2018 for HKD 2,980,000.00 (€ 325,578.41).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Work von Chiyu Uemae wurde im Oktober 2018 in der Auktion Contemporary Art bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 1.000.000,00 – 2.000.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 1.250.000,00 (€ 140.751,85) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Chiyu Uemae mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit ohne Titel beobachtet, die im Mai 2018 für HKD 2.980.000,00 (€ 325.578,41) versteigert wurde.
