A top price for Chiyu Uemae - as previously expected
This work without title by Chiyu Uemae was sold in the Asian 20th Century & Contemporary Art (Evening Sale) / Contemporaries: Voices from East and West (Evening Sale) auction at Christies in Hong Kong in May 2018. It changed hands for a price of HKD 2,980,000.00 (€ 325,578.41) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of HKD 2,000,000.00 – 3,000,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, this work without title is the most expensive artwork by Chiyu Uemae that we have observed at auctions so far.

Diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Chiyu Uemae wurde im Mai 2018 in der Auktion Asian 20th Century & Contemporary Art (Evening Sale) / Contemporaries: Voices from East and West (Evening Sale) bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von HKD 2.980.000,00 (€ 325.578,41) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von HKD 2.000.000,00 – 3.000.000,00. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist dieses Werk ohne Titel das teuerste Kunstwerk von Chiyu Uemae, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
