Auction result well in line with expectations
In April last year Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Contemporary Day Auction, which included this untitled work by Chiyu Uemae. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 600,000.00 – 800,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 630,000.00 (€ 76,171.59) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Chiyu Uemae have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work without title in May 2018 with an auction result of HKD 2,980,000.00 (€ 325,578.41).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April letzten Jahres führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Contemporary Day Auction durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von Chiyu Uemae zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 600.000,00 – 800.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von HKD 630.000,00 (€ 76.171,59) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Chiyu Uemae auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit ohne Titel im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 2.980.000,00 (€ 325.578,41).
