The work Untitled (Drummer) by Tyeb Mehta was sold in the South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art Online auction at Christies in New York in March this year. The »bidding war« ended at USD 3,780.00 (€ 3,476.82), 51% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Tyeb Mehta achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Durga Mahisasura Mardini in November 2018 with an auction result of INR 204,875,000.00 (€ 2,587,399.54).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 51 % übertroffen
Die Arbeit Untitled (Drummer) von Tyeb Mehta wurde im März diesen Jahres in der Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art Online bei Christies in New York versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 3.780,00 (€ 3.476,82) und damit 51% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Tyeb Mehta erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Durga Mahisasura Mardini im November 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von INR 204.875.000,00 (€ 2.587.399,54).
