Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In July 2020 Christies in New York held the auction South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art, which included the work Untitled (Falling Figure) by Tyeb Mehta. Here, the upper estimate of USD 900,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 975,000.00 (€ 828,095.80). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Tyeb Mehta - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Durga Mahisasura Mardini, which sold at auction in November 2018 for INR 204,875,000.00 (€ 2,587,399.54).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Juli 2020 führte Christies in New York die Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Falling Figure) von Tyeb Mehta zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 900.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 975.000,00 (€ 828.095,80) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Tyeb Mehta mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Durga Mahisasura Mardini beobachtet, die im November 2018 für INR 204.875.000,00 (€ 2.587.399,54) versteigert wurde.
