Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Tyeb Mehta achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in March last year. In the South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art Online auction, the work without title sold for USD 4,410.00 (€ 3,975.48) - well above the upper estimate of USD 1,800.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Tyeb Mehta achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Durga Mahisasura Mardini in November 2018 with an auction result of INR 204,875,000.00 (€ 2,587,399.54).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Tyeb Mehta erzielte im März letzten Jahres bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art Online wurde diese Arbeit ohne Titel für USD 4.410,00 (€ 3.975,48) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 1.800,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Tyeb Mehta erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Durga Mahisasura Mardini im November 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von INR 204.875.000,00 (€ 2.587.399,54).
