Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Untitled (Confidant) by Tyeb Mehta was auctioned at Christies in New York in March 2021. It changed hands for a price of USD 750,000.00 (€ 638,678.36) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 600,000.00 – 800,000.00. Admittedly, works by Tyeb Mehta have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Durga Mahisasura Mardini in November 2018 with an auction result of INR 204,875,000.00 (€ 2,587,399.54).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Untitled (Confidant) von Tyeb Mehta kam im März 2021 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 750.000,00 (€ 638.678,36) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 600.000,00 – 800.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Tyeb Mehta auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Durga Mahisasura Mardini im November 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von INR 204.875.000,00 (€ 2.587.399,54).
