Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Tung Chiao achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in August 2021. In the Inkspiration: Chinese Paintings Online auction, the work Calligraphy Couplet in Xingshu II sold for HKD 107,100.00 (€ 11,663.01) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 50,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Tung Chiao - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Literati, which sold at auction in October 2020 for HKD 252,000.00 (€ 27,911.05).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Tung Chiao erzielte im August 2021 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Inkspiration: Chinese Paintings Online wurde die Arbeit Calligraphy Couplet in Xingshu II für HKD 107.100,00 (€ 11.663,01) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 50.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Tung Chiao mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Literati beobachtet, die im Oktober 2020 für HKD 252.000,00 (€ 27.911,05) versteigert wurde.
