Upper estimate price exceeded by 58 %.
In December 2021 Sothebys in Hong Kong held the auction Inkspiration: Chinese Paintings Online, which included the work Aphorism in Xingshu by Tung Chiao. The »bidding war« ended at HKD 81,900.00 (€ 9,276.89), 58% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Tung Chiao - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Literati, which sold at auction in October 2020 for HKD 252,000.00 (€ 27,911.05).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 58 % übertroffen
Im Dezember 2021 führte Sothebys in Hong Kong die Auktion Inkspiration: Chinese Paintings Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Aphorism in Xingshu von Tung Chiao zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von HKD 81.900,00 (€ 9.276,89) und damit 58% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Tung Chiao mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Literati beobachtet, die im Oktober 2020 für HKD 252.000,00 (€ 27.911,05) versteigert wurde.
