A top price for Tung Chiao
When the work Literati by Tung Chiao was auctioned at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2020, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - HKD 50,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than five times as high at HKD 252,000.00 (€ 27,911.05). This high result makes Literati the most expensive artwork by Tung Chiao that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis für Tung Chiao
Als die Arbeit Literati von Tung Chiao im Oktober 2020 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – HKD 50.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit HKD 252.000,00 (€ 27.911,05) mehr als fünfmal so hoch. Dieses hohe Ergebnis macht Literati zu dem teuersten Kunstwerk von Tung Chiao, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
