Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Tschabalala Self achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in June 2021. In the Contemporary Curated: Asia | JAY CHOU x SOTHEBY’S | Evening Sale auction, the work Lilith sold for HKD 3,276,000.00 (€ 355,858.54) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 1,500,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Tschabalala Self; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Princess sold at auction in February 2020 with the realized price of GBP 435,000.00 (€ 504,165.99).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Tschabalala Self erzielte im Juni 2021 bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Curated: Asia | JAY CHOU x SOTHEBY’S | Evening Sale wurde die Arbeit Lilith für HKD 3.276.000,00 (€ 355.858,54) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 1.500.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Tschabalala Self; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Princess im Februar 2020 mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 435.000,00 (€ 504.165,99).
