Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Wow That'S Me? by Trenton Doyle Hancock was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in March 2012, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 25,000.00 – 35,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 23,750.00 (€ 17,811.61). Other works by Trenton Doyle Hancock have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in February 2010 by the work Cult of Color Salad at GBP 27,500.00 (€ 30,678.81).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Wow That'S Me? von Trenton Doyle Hancock im März 2012 bei Sothebys in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 25.000,00 – 35.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 23.750,00 (€ 17.811,61) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Trenton Doyle Hancock wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im Februar 2010 die Arbeit Cult of Color Salad mit GBP 27.500,00 (€ 30.678,81).
